Library Services
Interlibrary loans
The library is a gateway to a number of local, regional and national collections. If you require material, which is not available in this library, the service may be able to obtain it for you from another library.
This service is only for health care professionals who work for or with the following:
Milton Keynes General NHS Trust
Milton Keynes PCT
This may be a charged service. Consult library staff for details.
Private establishments, which have an agreement with the library, should consult the library staff
Placement students should use their university libraries, unless there is an agreement with the library.
Members of other NHS trusts within the Thames Valley and neighbouring health authorities need to use their workplace library services. Members of the public should contact their local public library service.
Interlibrary loans may take between 3 and 10 days to arrive, although this may take longer, especially where items are in demand. Please allow plenty of time.
Borrowing times vary from library to library. Books may be renewed if they are not needed by the supplying library The British library charges for renewals, so if you need to renew you will be charged £3.50 on every item not returned within a week after the due date.
The borrower will be expected to pay the replacement cost of any lost or damaged books. The supplying library will state the amount required. In the case of the British library this charge is currently £118.00 regardless of the original price of the book.
Where a charge applies this will need to be paid before the request is processed. Please consult library staff
