Library Membership
The library provides membership to all employees of Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes PCT and students on placement ( for the length of placement only).
Borrowing material
Up to six books may be borrowed for four weeks at a time
- Main loan: 6 books for four weeks
- Short loan: 3 books for two weeks
- Videos: 2 videos for one week
Items may be renewed in person or once by telephone.
Overdue items are charged at a fine of 25p per item per day.
Self–service photocopying and printing facilities

Interlibrary loans
The library is a gateway to a number of collections. This service will trace and deliver documents for you. This may be a charged service.
Literature searching
Library staff will conduct searches on behalf of readers, with the exception of staff undertaking personal CPD and formal educational courses.
Information skills training
Staff will assist you in conducting your own literature searches more effectively. This may be by individual or group tuition.
Access to healthcare databases, electronic journals and books
These are mainly via an Athens password.
Joining
To join the library you are required to produce your ID badge and a letter on headed paper from your manager. Please inform the library regarding change of name, address or job.
Access for other healthcare professionals
The library provides a variety of services to members of all NHS trusts within the Thames Valley. Please contact the library for more details.
Reference access is available to all members of the public.
