Borrowing material

Up to six books may be borrowed for four weeks at a time

  • Main loan: 6 books for four weeks
  • Short loan: 3 books for two weeks
  • Videos: 2 videos for one week

Items may be renewed twice in person or by telephone provided they have not been reserved.

Overdue items are charged at a fine of 25p per item per day.

Computer access

Access is restricted to Acute/PCT staff and students on placement. The library has twelve computers available for use. Eight of these are housed in the library IT suite, which is also used for training workshops. All the computers provide access to Microsoft Office and the Internet. Access to the Internet is used primarily for clinical research. There are four designated computers permitting access to email. A network password is provided by the IT department. The Internet is monitored to identify improper use.

Photocopying

Library users may photocopy materials within the terms of copyright legislation. This is a charged service. Photocopying cards may be purchased from the library staff. Acetates are also available.

Printing facilities

Both colour and black and white printers are available. The designated printer is specified on the computer monitor. Costs vary accordingly.

Quiet study area

This room provides 12 carrels, situated away from the main library working area.
